Become a Volunteer Member for the Township of Cramahe Community Policing Committee
Community policing is a police strategy imposed to create a better relationship between the police and the community. Community policing is defined as a collaborative effort between the police and the community that identifies problems of crime and disorder and involves all elements of the community in the search for solutions to these problems.
Cramahe welcomes volunteers from all backgrounds, a minimum age of 18 and be willing to have a criminal records check. Candidates are also expected to have good communication skills, sound judgment and solid understanding of confidentiality.
Volunteers help the Ontario Provincial Police in many ways; in these demanding times they undertake many tasks that need to be done but for which funding will never be available. Volunteers release police officers and professional staff to do what they are trained to do; preventing and detecting crime, countering anti-social behavior and keeping communities safe.
You will have the opportunity to learn new skills to share your experience and knowledge with new friends and colleagues. Working closely with local police officers, police staff and other Police Support Volunteers, you will become part of a close-knit team dedicated to making Cramahe a safer place to live. You will have the satisfaction and pride in knowing that you are making a positive contribution to the safety and well-being of your community.
