Public Works

Public Works is responsible for road maintenance repairs in accordance with Township of Cramahe policies and to the minimum maintenance standards set by the province. Staff address concerns regarding potholes, tree maintenance, gravel shoulders and erosion repairs, drainage ditches, storm sewers, catch basins, gravel road grading, sidewalks, parking lots and winter control.

The Town implements lifecycle planning to manage our infrastructure and to optimize service by considering timely interventions, from preventative maintenance, to restorative work and finally reconstruction or de-commissioning.  All roads are assessed for need, and based on a priority rating system that provides Town Council the information they require to make decisions for funding projects.

Winter Parking Restrictions

To assist the roads staff in effectively clearing the streets during winter months, overnight on-street parking restrictions are in effect from November 15 until April 15 of each year, as per the Township of Cramahe Traffic By-law 07-31. There is NO PARKING on any street between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.

Interference with the maintenance of the Township’s streets or removal of snow may cause your vehicle to be towed and impounded at the expense/responsibility of the vehicle owner.

If you suspect that your vehicle has been towed, please contact Beaudry Towing at 905-355-3960.

Rates are as follows:

Tow Rate                  $75.00
Storage Rate           $45.00/Per Day

Snow Ploughing, Sanding and Salting

The ploughing of roads is generally carried out in accordance with the classification of roads. The sanding and salting of roads are carried out to maintain roads safe and passable. Road salting operations are carried out on arterial roads and collector roads.
